you know how i know when i really like something? when i pin it on pinterest more than once and i don't even realize it until i look back at my boards and observe that i pinned the same thing over and over. this happens to me on almost a daily basis. is it sad that i rely on pinterest to let me know when i like something? i had pinned this DIY sharpie mug about 5 different times so i figured my subconscious was trying to get a point across. okay, i got it. apparently i need sharpie mugs in my life.
so i took a little trip over to Marshalls and Staples to get the essentials:
1. Sharpie(s) - you really only need one, but if you are sharpie-less like me, you will have to buy a pack. I made sure to buy the fine tip. It's not too fat and it's not too skinny.
2. Plain white coffee mugs - i found some at Marshall that had somewhat flat sides which made writing on them a whole lot easier
It's probably a good idea to really decide on what you would like to write/draw. obviously we are working with sharpies here, so there is no going back.
I baked them in the oven at 350 for 30 minutes and then let them cool inside the oven.
Just a tip: I had read on Pinterest that by letting them cool in the oven, the sharpie won't come off in the dishwasher. I found this to be false. One wash and the sharpie was rubbing off. So I would recommend handwashing these guys.
the final result!
And there you go!
My subconscious seems to be satisfied at the moment.
