happy chairs

in my previous weekend warrior post, i introduced you to these chairs that we found on the side of the road. i was in love with them then and i am even more in love with them now. here's how we brought them back to life.

1. These chairs were found sans seats, so our first step was to make a template for the cushions.

2. then we had to sand the hell out of these suckers.

2. Spray paint time! First (not pictured - I promise to work on my picture taking skills - we sprayed them with Rustoleum Rusty Metal Primer and let it dry) Then we sprayed on Rustoleum Painter's Touch Satin Spray in Green Apple

3. I recruited my Mother's amazing skills to make the seat cushions. Again, I don't have photos (dang!) but basically she cut 2" foam the same dimensions as the wood pieces and attached it with spray glue. Then, she wrapped the foam and wood with batting. She then proceeded to cover the wood/foam/batting combo with some amazing Trina Turk outdoor fabric.

I am very much in love with these chairs! It does my heart so much good to give these guys a second chance. They now live with us at the beach and I'm not 100% positive, but I think they are pretty happy. I know we are.
